Ketut Lyer

Another story from the making movie of “EPL”. Dicari, Kakek umur 90 th bisa bahasa Inggris utk main film Hollywood, one of vacancy in a local newspaper. After doing some research hehe, there’s Ketut Lyer, one of character in “EPL” is a sort of fortune teller whom the writer “EPL” met and took counsel with, regarded to her life problem. Originally, the producer asked Mr Ketut Lyer to act in the movie as himself, but diabetes makes him unable to do it though hundreds of million is promised. Speaking of Mr Ketut Lyer is another attracting fact, as a fortune teller his name is already spread out among tourists. When my colleagues and I were going to Ubud , I said that I want to meet Ketut Lyer, and one of my colleague explained that his telling will not work for local people because he has been reading mostly for foreigners for many years, even Ketut Lyer’s position already marked in guide tour list. Hahaha…this is amazing to know that in this modern high-tech life there are many “bule” still believe in superstitious things
“Well, the guests are from overseas already know him well, some already get the name of Ketut and says to the guide “I want to see this man!” by pointing a piece of paper where written Ketut’s name on it. They come with various problem, like love, family or even just for fun. Long time before, he explained more, I saw two foreigners, all girl in Ketut’s place , one of them wanted to be read by him. And the result of Ketut’s learning on them ;one girl would have inheritance, and the other girl would break up with her boyfriend. The lucky girl cheered up happily while her friend asked her furiously almost by screaming “ So you take me so far just for hearing the bad news???!!”
